Being able to swim is an essential life-saving skill. But there are many other great life-long benefits of learning how to swim. Research indicates that early swimming:

• Keeps the heart and lungs healthy
• Improves strength and flexibility
• Promotes personal development

The Learn to Swim program followings the Swimming South Africa curriculum and teaches:

• Water safety and orientation
• Breathing controll
• Submersion
• Stroke development
• Survival strokes
• Develop a love for water
• Achieve unaided swimming

Wonderpark Swim School (managed by AMI Health Solutions) operates on a flat monthly rate structure. This is a monthly subscription for a reserved time slot. In the event of joining mid-month, charges will be applied on a pro-rata basis per lesson until transitioning to the standard monthly rate. It is essential to note that all swimming lessons must be concluded within a single month, as there is no provision for carrying over lessons to the subsequent month.

• Learn to swim: 20-minute lessons
• Squad training: 30-minute lessons
• Adult lessons: 20-minute lessons

ARRIVAL TIME POLICY

We kindly request that you ensure timely arrival, with a recommended early arrival of 5-10 minutes before your child's scheduled swimming lesson. Late arrivals will result in the allocation of the remaining time for the lesson.

PAYMENT TERMS

• Fees are invoiced in advance and are due within 3 days of your nominated payment date.
• Admin Levy: A flat R50 Administrative Levy applies to all accounts paid after the 3rd of the month. This covers the cost of reserving your instructor and time slot during the period the account is pending.
• Strict Deadline: If payment is not received within 3 days of your nominated date, the time slot will be suspended and may be offered to the waiting list.
• No Carry-Overs: All swimming lessons must be concluded within a single month, as there is no provision for carrying lessons over to the following month.
• Annual Increase: Fees increase annually on 1st February.

FEES INFORMATION

For children up to 18 years:

• R450 per month for 2 lessons a week (8 lessons monthly)
• R300 per month for 1 lesson a week (4 lessons monthly)

For adults (19 years and older):

• R450 per month for 1 lesson a week (4 lessons monthly)
• R700 per month for 2 lessons a week (8 lessons monthly)

MISSING LESSONS POLICY

• Please note that a standard policy still applies for personal absences. If a swimmer misses a lesson due to vacation, illness, or school holidays, that lesson is still considered forfeited and cannot be made up or pro-rated.
• Due to our tightly scheduled program, arranging makeup lessons is not possible.
• Because you are paying for the reservation of a specific time slot (and not just the lesson itself), fees remain payable for missed lessons, including school holidays, even if the swimmer is on vacation.
• The swim school remains operational during school holidays.
• Lessons are not conducted during severe lightning conditions, and these lessons will not be rescheduled.
• If the swim school has to cancel a lesson due to pool maintenance, heating issues, or instructor unavailability, we will schedule a make-up lesson for you.

CANCELLATION/POSTPONEMENT OF LESSONS POLICY

• Please note that Wonderpark Swim School operates on a fixed-enrollment basis. Your monthly fee secures a dedicated time slot exclusively for your use. Because we maintain a waiting list, we offer two options for those needing to take a break:

• Option 1: Slot Retention (The "Pause" Option) - If you wish to take a temporary break, but want to guarantee that your specific time and instructor are still there when you return, you may opt for a Slot Retention Fee.

  • The Cost: 50% of your standard monthly fee.

  • The Benefit: Your slot is taken off the market and will not be offered to anyone else.

  • The Return: You can resume lessons immediately upon your return without paying a new registration fee.

• Option 2: Permanent Cancellation If you choose to cancel your enrollment entirely, please keep the following in mind:

• • One Calendar Month's Notice: Notice must be provided by the 1st of the previous month.

  • Slot Release: Your slot will be offered to the next person on our waiting list immediately.

  • Holiday Blackout: Notice of termination is not processed during June, July, November, and December.

  • To ensure the stability of our program and instructors during the holiday seasons, the final date to submit a cancellation June/July is 1 May and for November/December is 1 October of each year. Example: If you submit notice on 15 November, your account will remain active through December and January, with your final swimming month being January.

  • Re-enrolling: Should you wish to return later, you will be required to re-registration and will be subject to current availability (your old slot may no longer be available).

PHOTOS AND MEDIA CONSENT

• The child’s photo may be used for advertising and on the swim school’s Facebook page, with parental consent.
• Parents must indicate their consent by selecting either "YES" or "NO".

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By signing below, I acknowledge and agree to abide by the rules and regulations stated by the swimming school. I understand and accept the following terms:

1. I am responsible for ensuring the safety of my child when entering and leaving the premises.
2. I waive the right to make any claims or take any action against the swim school or its instructors for injuries, loss, death, or damages arising from participation in swimming activities.
3. No responsibility will be accepted for any claims arising from injuries, damages, costs, or expenses incurred.
4. The swimming instructors reserve the right to cancel lessons during unfavourable weather conditions for safety reasons.
5. I agree to make payment for swimming lessons on or before the 3rd of each month.
6. I agree to provide one month’s written notice should my child discontinue swimming lessons.
7. Fees are applicable for all 12 months, and the full monthly fee remains payable even if the swimmer is unable to attend for any reason.
8. I understand the monthly fee is a Reservation Fee that secures a dedicated, permanent time slot and a professional instructor for my use. This slot is held for you regardless my attendance.
9. I agree not to interfere with the instructor’s decisions and will not coach from the side-lines.
10. Children under the age of 14 must be supervised by an adult at all times while at the pool.
